Mindful Design – Icons (2012)
The purpose of this project is to reduce the stigma associated with having a mental, mood, or personality disorder. This project began with designing icons that best represent the characteristics of Major Depressive Disorder (Depression), Bipolar I Disorder, Schizophrenia: Paranoid Type, and Schizoid Personality Disorder. The icons offer a visual configuration instead of just a long name with negative connotations.

Whaling City Festival – Logo (2011)
This festival attracts over 100,000 people, every second weekend of July, to Buttonwood Park in Historic New Bedford, Massachusetts. The abstract form creates the notion of waves for a homage to the legendary fishing industry that New Bedford has. The whale tail is a play off of its own name. The sun rays vibrate and give you the sensations of warmth and Summer which has always been associated with this festival. I chose Futura for the typeface because it goes smoothly with the sharp and pointed strokes of the logo.
